Young Investigator Symposium

Young Investigator Symposium 2027

Welcome to the Young Investigator, YI, Symposium at APS 2027! Following an inaugural event in 2025 that brought 42 speakers and an estimated 250 attendees together ahead of the 29th American Peptide Symposium, the YI Symposium returns to Boston as a forum built by and for the next generation of peptide scientists. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will present their work, trade ideas across disciplines, and form the connections that shape careers. In keeping with this year's theme, Peptide Revolution: Connecting Chemistry, Biology, and Beyond, we welcome contributions spanning synthesis, structure–function, chemical biology, peptide therapeutics, and everything in between. Whether you're presenting your first talk or simply coming to listen, we hope you'll join us for a day of bold science, generous conversation, and a community that's glad you're here.

Interested in presenting at or attending the YI Symposium?

Students and postdocs interested in attending or presenting at the YI Symposium should sign up during abstract submission. YI Symposium speakers will be selected from submitted abstracts.

Interested in becoming an SAC member for APS 2027?

We will be looking for motivated students and postdocs to help organize Student Activities Committee, SAC, events during the YI Symposium and APS 2027. If you are interested, please revisit this page in December for application instructions.

Sponsoring the YI Symposium

We are seeking sponsors for the YI Symposium, an opportunity for trainees to present their research to the APS community. Sponsorship includes recognition on the YI Symposium website, digital program, and session slides, plus access to the YI job board. Sponsorship details will be coordinated with the APS Student Activities Committee.

Please email James Checco, checco@unl.edu, if you are interested in contributing to this important event.
